Kenmore is a marketing name used by Sears and is not an actual manufacturer of appliances. Sears sells appliances under the Kenmore name which are made by other companies, such as Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Amana, Jenn Air, etc. The following table will help you determine the actual manufacturer of the appliance, based on the first three digits of the model number, which usually appears only on the rear of the machine or inside a door.

The owner’s manual, bill of sale, or energy guide label won't usually help in identifying the appliance as the model number appears only on the appliance's identification tag. Printing on the front of the appliance, such as "Kenmore Deluxe, Elite, or Heavy Duty" is NOT the model number.
